The CS2 Premier rating guessing game

Premier is CS2's main competitive mode, and every Premier player has a rating. CSGuessr turns that number into a guessing game: you watch a clip of a real player and call which rating band they are in. Get it right often enough and your own CS Rating climbs the leaderboard.

Premier rating in this game

In CS2, Premier rating is a number that starts in the low thousands and goes past 30,000. The game shows it in seven colours, one for every 5,000 points: grey, light blue, blue, purple, pink, red and gold. CSGuessr uses exactly those bands as the answers. You never have to guess an exact number like 17,340; you only have to say it is a purple, 15–20k player.

Each clip carries the rating the player had when it was recorded, entered by the person who submitted it, between 1,000 and 30,000. Moderators review every clip before it goes live and can correct the rating. CS2 Premier rating explained has the full colour table and how the rating behaves in CS2 itself.

How you guess

A Ranked round is one clip and one decision. Watch the player, pick one of the seven brackets under the clip and lock it. The answer shows the clip's bracket next to your pick, and your CS Rating moves:

  • Right bracket: +100.
  • One bracket off: +65, because telling 15k from 20k is genuinely close.
  • Further off, within 7,500 of the real rating: −30.
  • Further than that: −40 at a CS Rating of 5,000, growing to −90 at 30,000.

Everyone starts at 5,000 CS Rating. Your CS Rating is CSGuessr's own score for how well you read players; it has nothing to do with your Premier rating in CS2, and playing here does not change anything in your CS2 account.

What to look for

Higher-rated players tend to pre-aim common angles, stop before they shoot, use utility with a purpose and trade their teammates. Lower-rated players often over-peek, spray at range or walk into crossfires. None of it is a rule: everyone has good and bad rounds, which is why one bracket off still scores well. How to guess a CS2 rank from a clip goes through it in detail.

Other ways to guess ratings

  • Higher / Lower: is the player above or below a reference rating? +24 or −14.
  • Who's Higher?: two clips, pick the higher-rated player. +24 or −14.
  • Daily Draft: the same five clips for everyone each UTC day, scored in points (1,000 for the right bracket, up to 5,000), with its own daily board.

Every mode is on the CS2 minigames page, and the CS2 guessing game page covers how all the guesses are scored.

Try it

Play Ranked: five rounds without a name, then a guest name (no email or password) or a sign-in keeps your rating.

Questions

Is this an official CS2 or Valve game?

No. CSGuessr is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve. Counter-Strike 2 and Premier are Valve's.

Where do the clips come from?

Players submit their own Premier clips from YouTube with the rating they had. Each one is reviewed before it is used. Submit a clip lists the rules.

Why can I not see the player's exact rating?

So the clip stays fair for everyone who has not guessed it yet. Results always show the bracket.

Does guessing well change my real Premier rating?

No. CSGuessr has no connection to your CS2 matchmaking. Your CS Rating exists only on CSGuessr.

CSGuessr is community-made and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve Corporation.
