CS2 Premier rating and colours explained

Premier is Counter-Strike 2's ranked mode. Instead of the old skill groups it gives every player a single number, the CS Rating, shown in a colour that changes every 5,000 points.

The seven brackets

ColourCS RatingWhat it usually looks like
Grey0 to 4,999New or casual players. Crosshair often aimed at the floor, little utility, frequent wide peeks.
Light blue5,000 to 9,999Knows the maps and basic smokes, but spotting, trading and timing are inconsistent.
Blue10,000 to 14,999Solid basics: head-level crosshair most of the time, counter-strafes, uses flashes with purpose.
Purple15,000 to 19,999Clean mechanics and good default positions. Mistakes are about decisions rather than aim.
Pink20,000 to 24,999Fast, efficient movement, pre-aimed angles, utility that wins rounds, very few wasted actions.
Red25,000 to 29,999Near the top of the ladder. Near-perfect crosshair placement and team play that looks rehearsed.
Gold30,000 and upThe very top: professional and semi-professional level players.

How the number moves

Premier rating goes up with wins and down with losses, and the size of each change depends on the expected result of the match. That is why two players with the same colour can be a long way apart, and why a single highlight clip does not tell you the whole story.

How CSGuessr scores a guess

In CSGuessr you guess the bracket, not the exact number. Hitting the right bracket is a range hit (+100 CS Rating in the game), one bracket off is a close read (+65), and anything further loses rating. New players start at 5,000. The clip's exact rating stays on the server; the result only shows its bracket.
