Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information CSGuessr processes when you use csguessr.com.

Information you provide

• Account information such as username, profile name, password credentials in hashed form, profile bio and optional avatar.
• Third-party sign-in identifiers when you choose supported providers such as Google or Steam.
• An optional email address, only if you add one in Settings. It is used to send you a password-reset link and nothing else.
• CS2 clip submissions, ratings, reports and moderation-related information you submit.

Game and account data

CSGuessr stores data needed to operate your account, including rating, XP, progression, virtual tokens, inventory, settings, submitted clips and moderation/account status.

Optional analytics

If you allow analytics in Privacy Settings, CSGuessr may process a random visitor identifier, session identifier, pages/features used, rounds played, broad referrer information and UTM campaign parameters. The server hashes the visitor identifier before analytics storage. If analytics is disabled, the analytics script does not send these events and clears its local analytics identifiers.

Necessary storage

CSGuessr uses necessary cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, request protection and core game behavior. These functions cannot be fully disabled while using account features.

Daily reminder (optional)

If you turn on the Daily reminder in a browser that supports it, CSGuessr stores that browser's push address with your account and sends at most one notification a day, at 16:00 UTC, when you have not finished that day's Daily Draft. The notification carries no message about you. You can turn it off on the Daily Draft result screen or in your browser's site settings. The address is deleted when you turn it off, when you delete your account, or when the browser's push service reports it gone. That push service (run by your browser maker, for example Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft) can see that a notification was sent to your browser.

Advertising

CSGuessr does not currently load a third-party advertising network. If advertising is introduced, this policy and the consent flow will be updated as needed before ad technology is enabled.

Third-party services

Features may interact with services such as Google, Steam, YouTube, Cloudflare and Resend (which delivers the password-reset email) when required for login, video content, hosting, security, email or delivery. Those services process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Data retention and control

Account and game data is retained while needed to provide the service, maintain security and resolve moderation issues. Available account controls may allow profile editing, sign-out, password changes and account deletion. Some limited records may be retained where necessary for security, abuse prevention or legal obligations. Security logs and rate-limit records are normally retained for up to 30 days; account records are deleted or anonymised when deletion is completed, except where a longer period is required for fraud prevention, disputes or law.

Controller and rights

The service operator is CSGuessr administrator. For privacy requests, including access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection requests where applicable, contact privacy@csguessr.com. We may need to verify account ownership before responding.

You can change optional analytics and advertising-storage preferences at any time.
