CSGuessr uses cookies and browser storage only for the purposes described below.
Necessary storage
- csg_session: keeps an account signed in for up to 30 days. It is HttpOnly, Secure on HTTPS, SameSite=Lax and is not readable by site JavaScript.
- csg_clip_history: remembers recently shown clips for up to 90 days so the game can reduce repeats. It is HttpOnly and does not contain a password or account token.
- Local storage: keeps interface preferences, consent choices and limited continuity data on the device.
- Session storage: keeps short-lived request and sign-in checks for the current browser tab to avoid unnecessary Worker requests.
Necessary storage supports sign-in, account safety, game continuity, preferences and request protection. Account features cannot work reliably without it.
Optional analytics
Optional analytics storage is off until you allow it. When enabled, it supports a random visitor ID, session ID and a small batched analytics queue. CSGuessr uses that data to measure visits, registrations, rounds and feature use without sending a request for every click.
Advertising
Advertising storage is a separate optional category reserved for future monetization. CSGuessr does not currently load AdSense or another external advertising network.
Changing your choice
Your consent selection is stored so the site can remember it. You can reopen the controls whenever you want.
If Google advertising is enabled later for users in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, CSGuessr will add an appropriate certified consent setup before enabling that technology.
