How the CSGuessr weekly leaderboard works

CSGuessr is a CS2 Premier bracket guessing game. Its leaderboard has two views: your current CSGuessr CS Rating, and the rating you have gained this week. The weekly view gives recent progress its own place, even when you have just started playing.

Two boards answer different questions

Open the leaderboard and look for All time and This week. All time orders rated players by their current CS Rating. This week orders players by rating gained since Monday 00:00 UTC. The weekly number is a change, not a player's full rating.

A player can have a high total rating and gain little during the current week. Another can have a lower total rating but make more progress this week. Those players can appear in a different order on the two boards without anything being wrong. Read the selected tab and column label before comparing a result.

When the week starts and ends

The weekly period starts on Monday at 00:00 UTC and ends at the next Monday 00:00 UTC. The board includes a reset countdown. UTC is the shared time reference for everyone, so the reset may fall at a different hour on your local clock. Use the countdown rather than assuming it happens at local midnight.

A new week starts a new weekly total. It does not reset your account's CS Rating. Your All time position still follows that rating, while This week gives the new period its own standings. You do not need to rebuild your entire account rating when the weekly board resets.

Read Gained as a net change

The weekly Gained figure adds saved rating changes during the period. Gains increase it and losses reduce it. It is not a count of correct guesses, a count of clips watched, or a sum that ignores bad results. A good result can raise both your account rating and your weekly total; a later loss can reduce both.

This matters when deciding how to practise. Playing more does not by itself guarantee a higher weekly position. What counts is the rating change your saved play produces under each mode's rules. To compare those rules, use the game modes guide. Start with Ranked if you want to learn the main bracket guessing flow.

Understand who appears on the board

The weekly public board lists players with a positive gain. A player with no gain, or a negative weekly total, does not get a place in that list. The weekly board shows the top ten, so an empty or short list can simply mean there are few positive totals to show.

When you are signed in, the page also shows your own weekly result. That row lets you read your total even if you are outside the public top ten. A zero or negative total can appear in your own row without a ranked place. That is different from your total CS Rating becoming zero or disappearing.

A name connects play to saved progress

You can view the public leaderboard without signing in. To build saved progress, pick a guest name or sign in and play. The first three Ranked guesses without a name show their results but are not saved. Those trial results do not create a weekly total for an account.

New players start with 5,000 CSGuessr rating. That starting rating is not a weekly gain earned from guesses. If you are starting from the trial, follow your first three Ranked guesses to understand the point where a name becomes useful.

Weekly progress and Daily Draft are different

Daily Draft has the same five clips for everyone per UTC day, with its own points, results and standings. The weekly board measures rating gained across the weekly period. Do not read a Daily Draft points total as the weekly Gained figure. The two measures answer different questions, even when you play both during the same visit.

The Daily Draft guide explains its scoring. Use that guide for the daily puzzle, and use the weekly board for your saved rating progress since Monday.

Make the week useful

Choose a mode you understand, then play Ranked and review the feedback before moving on. Return to This week to check your net progress. If repeated misses are pulling that total down, read how to learn from Ranked results. A weekly position is useful context; the revealed bracket remains the feedback that helps you improve your next read. Explore the guides index for more practice topics.
