CSGuessr game modes

Every mode shows you a real CS2 clip and asks how good the player is. What changes is how you answer and what is at stake. All rating changes below are to your CSGuessr CS Rating; new players start at 5,000.

Ranked

The main mode. Pick the Premier rating bracket you think the player is in.

Without a name you can try three guesses here, and in Higher / Lower, Hardcore and Survival. The results are shown but not saved; picking a name is free and takes one step.

Higher / Lower

You get a reference rating and call whether the player in the clip is rated higher or lower. A correct call is +24 and extends your streak; a wrong one is −14 and ends it. The clip you just saw sets the next reference.

Hardcore

Bracket guesses with no partial credit: only the exact bracket keeps the run going. Each hit is worth +31 to +40, more as your streak grows. One miss ends the run and costs 20.

Survival

You start with three lives. The exact bracket scores a point and +26 rating; anything else costs a life and 10 rating. The run ends when the last life is gone, and your best score is kept.

1v1 Duel

Play a friend live. Create a room, send them its six-character code, and you both guess the same clip each round. The exact bracket is worth 3 points and one bracket off is worth 1. The first to 8 points wins, or whoever leads after 6 rounds. A win is +60 rating, a draw +12 and a loss −35.

Daily Draft

The same five clips for everyone, once a day, for up to 5,000 points. See how the Daily Draft works.

Rules that apply everywhere

• A clip's exact rating stays on the server. Results show its bracket.
• In Higher/Lower, Hardcore and Survival each clip can be played once a day, and a clip whose answer you have already seen does not change your rating.
• The leaderboard ranks players by CS Rating, and the weekly board counts rating gained since Monday 00:00 UTC.
