CS2 skin games
CSGuessr has two skin puzzles, Mystery Skin and Price Check, and a virtual collection of cases, an inventory, an upgrader and trade-up contracts. None of it uses real money: nothing in it can be bought, and nothing can be cashed out or moved to Steam.
Mystery Skin
Mystery Skin is a daily puzzle: one CS2 skin per UTC day, the same for everyone, and six guesses to name it. Type a weapon and finish (for example "ak redline"), and each guess is checked against the answer on four clues: weapon, weapon type, rarity and price, with arrows that point toward the answer's rarity and price. The skin's picture is always fully in frame, but it starts blurred and grey and gets clearer with every miss.
Price Check
Price Check shows two skins of the same rarity. Pick the one that costs more. The prices are real Steam Community Market prices from the site's skin catalogue, shown in US dollars after you pick. Early pairs are far apart in price; the longer your streak, the closer they get. One wrong pick ends the run, and your best streak is kept.
Neither puzzle changes your CS Rating or earns anything. They are there to test what you know.
The virtual collection
Playing CSGuessr earns tokens, a game-only currency. You spend them on:
- Cases: virtual cases that drop virtual copies of CS2 skins. Every case lists each rarity's chance and every skin it can drop under Drops & odds, and the odds are the same for every player.
- Inventory: the skins you have opened, kept on your account.
- Upgrader: stake up to five of your skins for one more valuable skin. The chance is shown before you spin and is never more than 90%; if it fails, the staked skins are gone.
- Trade Up: trade 10 skins of the same rarity for one skin of the next rarity up, or 5 Covert skins for a knife or gloves. The skins you put in are gone for good.
- Skin Index: the whole catalogue, with every skin's value and which ones you own.
What is not possible
This is the important part. Tokens cannot be bought with money. Cases cannot be bought with money. Skins in a CSGuessr inventory are not real CS2 items: they cannot be withdrawn to Steam, traded for real items, sold, or exchanged for anything with real-world value. CSGuessr is not a case-opening or gambling site. Economy and rewards has the full rules.
Where the skins come from
The catalogue is based on real CS2 cosmetics and their Steam market prices, which is what makes Price Check and the case odds meaningful. The skins and their names belong to Valve; CSGuessr is not affiliated with Valve.
Questions
Can I win real CS2 skins?
No. Everything in the collection is virtual and stays inside CSGuessr.
Do the skin games cost anything?
No. Mystery Skin and Price Check are free, and cases are opened with tokens earned by playing.
Do I need an account for the skin puzzles?
Not to try them. A whole Mystery Skin puzzle or one Price Check pick counts as one of your five rounds without a name. Cases, the inventory and the upgrader need a name.
